EDICOLA is a temporary pavilion designed for the cultural association Line Culture on the occasion of BGBS2023 Capitale Italiana della Cultura.
A totemic element with a square base 2×2 metres and a height of 6 metres, built in Piazza Tebaldo Brusato in Brescia. When closed EDICOLA becomes a landmark within the square, a true “cultural stronghold”; when it is open, however, it indicates the activity of the cultural association Line Culture. EDICOLA reinterprets the role of the city’s newsstands: it distributes culture, but through another action: the production of inclusive cultural events. The structure, made of scaffoldings, galvanized iron, and polycarbonate, is designed to be easily assembled and disassembled in several locations around the city: a wandering “cultural stronghold”.
