KURO is the renovation project of a clothing shop located in the heart of the historic city centre of Brescia.
The project consists of a single action: the grafting of a metal cage structure, anchored to the existing walls, which organises the interior space, while acting as a display element.
The cage defines three spaces: the main display area, the one dedicated to the changing rooms and, finally, the one behind it which includes the storage rooms and a service restroom.
The idea behind the project, and of Kuro’s philosophy at the same time, is the idea of the “continuous construction site”: a space in which everything is evolving and changing: a flexible space, capable of transforming and reinventing itself according to display requirements.
To support this idea, even the materials used to build the shop belong to the imaginary of the ‘unfinished’.
