STONES VENUE is a public shelter located in Parco delle Cave, Brescia, a former sand-mining site now reclaimed as a green space for the city.
The project celebrates the geological identity shared by the territories of Brescia and Bergamo through the stones that have shaped their landscapes and histories.
Its construction was a five-year collective process involving eleven local companies, each contributing discarded blocks from their own production.
Nine monolithic pillars, each made from a different local stone, support a steel roof whose material presence recalls the industrial structures that once inhabited the site.
A tenth pillar, combining Marmo di Botticino Classico and Ceppo di Gré in a sculpture by Francesco Paterlini, embodies the connection between the two territories.
More than a shelter, STONES VENUE is conceived as a place for gathering, shade and protection.
A space where matter becomes memory, honouring the land and those who, over centuries, have worked to shape it.
